c+c generals graphics prob

after installing the game twice,i have a problem with the graphics.
the problem is that you can see roads buildings,everything else exept the ground.i can't see hills and the like.but during the fmv you can see them.and occasionally the ground will appear for an instant then go back to black during heavy gameplay.i have a compaq pesario(forgot model#) 1.6 mhz, 80 gig hd , stock vid card (unknown specs).any help greatly appriciated!

Its most likely your vid card. Its either overheating, or it needs a newer driver.
Download MVSoft PC This tool will show your vid card.
Post your vid card & other system specs (i.e. OS, RAM, ect.)
