PC will not boot up

About a year ago, I put together a system
it's made up of
P3 Mother board Gigabyte 6A-6VTXE-A
Intel celeron 1.3 gig processor
ATI 9000 video card
Antec Power supply
Optiquest Q71 monitor

Every thing worked fine up until a month ago
there was a slight flicker on the monitor,
but then things got worse, last week I had a hard time turning the system on

When the on button was pressed the CPU fan and Power supply fan worked
but no boot up ..... after pressing the reset button a few times it finally turned on..
How ever last Saturday it froze up, the reset no longer worked ....

The only way to shut off the system was to turn off the Power supply

Just like before the fans turn on but no boot up at all feels like the mother board is dead

Can someone please help me here .......

Thanks in advance

Mobos do die. Try replacing it.

it could be one of several components. if youre going to be swapping parts, try the motherboard last
