Revivification of "Thought of the Day"

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Hell, I'm gonna attempt to bring back this thread, seeing as the previous one was closed.

Maybe this'll go farther. I am hoping, but if not, so be it. I'm shooting for 150 replies. Anything more, BONUS. Anything less, figures...

Right now I'm thinking two things:

No Leaf Clover is friggin awesome on the Metallica S&M album.

Strechy book covers are 2 for a buck at Target. I gotta get me some!

Posted by: Canis Lupus

I'm thinking:

if this turns into yet another chatroom thread, it'll get closed way before it gets 150 replies

Posted by: Gerbilo

I'm thinking:
It will be chat, but, i'm bored so i'll pitch in
also,
We need more business at my restaurant becaue tonite was hella lame

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Well, thanks for re-opening it.

I'm not trying to spam your site- there isn't any point in that.

and I've talked to Bix on AIM now--no need to chat in the thread anymore.

Thinking:

Must buy Dynasty Warriors 4.

Posted by: uh...ok

I'm thinking that you should learn the word, "revival".

Dynasty Warriors 4 is fun, but supposedly you can get it for $5 from Circuit City. Or could have.

I'm still pissed that I tried 3 times (not counting the times died, quit, and restarted) to get Yue Ying's 10th level weapon and still failed.

Raw at the cow palace on August 31st, F**K YES.

Posted by: AltronHGX

I wonder if I'll be able to fly on Earth and Mars in Zone of the Enders 3.......man, it'd be cool to fly in bird mode again. ZOE2 lacked that

If you take your eyes off the goal, all you'll see are obstacles.

I'm thinking: I need to get to work on my journalism class, but I'm unmotivated.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

I'm thinking right now:

Going shopping soon, gotta get Aqua Teen Volume 2, Strechy Book covers, and Dynasty Warriors 4.

Also, is Blu-Ray technology backwards compatiable? I mean, can you read Blu-Rays in a CD-ROM, or vice versa??

Posted by: Gunslinger

I hope that Tales of Symphonia ends up being worth the $50 that I'm about to drop for it.

Posted by: Tecil

I'm thinking it's pretty hard to do intranet website updates when even supervisors email you totally ambiguous requests.

Posted by: Bix VT

I'm thinking my computer pics thread was perfectly legit.

Posted by: TheeMon

im thinking that was done two or three times bix, then laggy decided to make a gallery so the forums wouldnt be cluttered up with the same pics over and over

Posted by: Tecil

I'm thinking for once Thee is 100% right.

Posted by: C-Money

I'm thinking of a number between 1 & 10.

Posted by: Shalome

My thought of the day:

"When you have 6 different secure shell sessions open to 4 different servers because you've been comparing configurations between the live servers and the test servers you've just built, make sure you're typing 'shutdown' in the correct window, especially if your servers are in a colo in L.A. and you're in your office in Long Beach."

Seriously, this has been my thought of the day all day today, and every time I've got a session open to a live server. No, I haven't shut down a live server yet. However, I did once accidentally restart Apache on a live server when I meant to do it on a test server. That was a no-harm one though.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

I'm thinking:

The people at EB aren't that friendly. I attempt to be nice, and they shrug it off. Dynasty Warriors 4--discontinued? Wtf, it just came out. Paid 20 bucks for DW3 Extreme--it's the same thing pretty much--fun game, too. Also got my strechy book covers. Target ran out of ATHF Vol. 2? NO! 27 bucks at FYE..Nah. Grapermelon gum is awesome, Tom Clancy is cool, I have a ton of summer work, broke 800 posts today, and nobody looks at the gallery.

Posted by: Cettie

I'm thinking "How did I make that man impotent with a photocopier machine?"

Posted by: Ocean

im thinking my finger smells like twila.

seriously while im reading this thread thats my thought

Posted by: C-Money

Thought...

I am going to "watch" the 52 most irresistible women on Spike TV on Aug 11.

I can't wait!!!

Posted by: AltronHGX

Is there any portion of legitimate ZOE I don't own besides the game soundtracks and the gameboy game....? hmmmmm....

Posted by: Chaotic

"Starting Over" is the worst show on television.

And I'm supposed to know this how?

And I'm also thinking that nobody looks at the gallery.

Final thought from Bix: I'm thinking I should drop it.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Might as well, bud, before things go haywire.

I'm thinking:

Hey, got 25 replies here--it's coming along. Keep up the posts!

Well, now you know.

Those who care to look at the gallery will. Those who don't, won't.

There's only one Jamba Juice in Boston.
And it's at BU.

WTF.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

I'm thinking right now:

What is butter? Is it a condiment? A topping? A sauce, even? Or is it just butter...
Need to learn to do combos in DW3.
Metal Gear Solid 2 has lots of extras.
Juice makes you thirsty.
I have to work tomorrow.
OMGWTF Phantasy Star Trilogy is coming out August 2nd for ps2. !!MUST GET!!

Posted by: uh...ok

Three hours of tossing at the turf/grass-after-the-lights-went-out-on-the-turf with people I don't really particularly care too much about can be very tiring.

Enough to make me start disliking frisbee a little bit.

Sadness.

If only she were there as well...

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Where did my other post go?

Also, my cat is at the vet right now. I hope he is okay, cause I like him, and he isn't doing to well. Hope for the best...

Posted by: Bix VT

I'm thinking that cats rule.

Posted by: TheeMon

why is this thread still here?

Posted by: Bishop

who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Sigh..

My cat is really sick. He's got a fever, and is very anemic. He's on antibiotics, and vitamins..He's lost a lot of weight..

I hope he's gonna be okay..Hope for the best, if you even give a damn.

I'm thinking right now that work sucks.

Posted by: Bishop

I have no idea if my cat is alive or dead. In fact, that post of yours is the first time I've thought of it in over a month.

before you start setting up the flamethrowers, my cat was left behind back when I abandoned my previous residence.

I am only negligent with your children, never with my pets.

This "No Sting" liquid bandage better actually work. I think I still need real bandages on my palm so I can go lifting - so there's some degree of separation between hurting metal and hurting skin.

It's gonna be awhile before I get to bike without using my hands again (so if I get hurt again, at least I won't get hurt on top of present injuries). Dammit, I almost made that turn just fine too!

what the hell is this "fan service" Misato keeps referring to in each episode preview?

"The ontic-ontological priority that has been demonstrated for Dasein could lead to the mistaken opinion that this being would have to be what is primarily given also ontically-ontologically, not only in the sense that such a being could be grasped immediately but also that the prior givenness of its manner of being would be just as 'immediate.'"

Cars are like women: when they break down, it's usually your fault.

Posted by: ianelarazure

Hmm, my car hasnt broke down in 2 Years, I hope I have the same luck with women.

Posted by: singinginmycar

I wonder if it's more expensive to repair a car or a woman? Financially speaking.

Posted by: Bix VT

A woman. Cars only require an oil change every 3000 miles to maintain, whereas a woman you have to feed, buy trinkets, go out on dates, blah blah...

Posted by: singinginmycar

I'm sorry we're so much trouble. We thought you liked us. Most of us like you!

Posted by: Bix VT

Can't live with em, can't live without em.

Posted by: taco_fox

People in this area can't ****ing drive when it rains. Here's a thought: it's not a good idea to drive 45 in a 65 just because it's raining.

Posted by: Bix VT

that's odd. in my experience, most Texans drive well.

Posted by: ianelarazure

My dad is from Texas and within 6 years he has totalled 5 vehicles, and never got a scratch on him. He knows how to wreck, but how to live through it too. He drives sort of fast, but he doesnt pay attention, so he is a good driver, but he isnt.

Also, lol, hes a bad influence, when I was 16 I had my license for 2 weeks, totalled my dads truck, w/o a scratch on me. Flipped it 3 times...fun fun.

My thought for today:

A middle-aged woman with a bad memory, such as myself, does not belong on a forum with hyperintelligent technophiles, such as yourselves.

I must leave now.

Posted by: Bix VT

technophiles would be the accurate description I suppose.

I'm thinking: people should really be more happy as a whole.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

I'm thinking:

Ain't a hell of alot more till 150.

Posted by: ianelarazure

Im thinking:
People are more happy as a whole, unfortunately we are a society. You know how that goes.

I'm thinking:
I hope Laggy doesn't close this thread at 149 posts...

some people obsess too much on post counts or how much replies their topic will get instead of posting something of substance

I'm thinking, quality versus quantity ... besides, all it had were you, Bix and Bishop flaming each other ... now that's a thought

Posted by: singinginmycar

I'm thinking that RAcast was really nice to me when I first joined and made a fool of myself because I didn't know how to edit my post because I am a n00b. (deep breath after a run-on sentence)
I would like to see him reach his goal of 150 if the Alpha Male will let him do it. I am going to keep my account active until the goal is reached, or the thread is closed, whichever. (I love the dancing banana)

Also, I really don't know Canis Lupis and have nothing against him, but some of you seem to have a fun time bantering with each other and him. This is a good community of witty people, I think.

Posted by: Bix VT

I'm thinking:

It was much more witty when Ice was here

He's so British.

Posted by: ianelarazure

Im thinking:

I wish I could have been here to have known who Ice is. :\

Posted by: Canis Lupus

here's a thought:
you're not one of the majority
(unless you actually like stale puns, that is, heh)

Posted by: ianelarazure

Im thinking:

I have a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor, so unfortunately yes, I do like stale puns.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

then I'm thinking you and Icebreaker, and his legion of ardent admirers, will get along just fine

Posted by: Bix VT

Legion? I'm thinking that would be me.

And for a real thought of the day:

Why do they provide motherboards with minimal instructions, but provide those same useless instructions in 20 different languages? Wouldn't it be better to just have 4 languages and have the info be 5 times better?

Posted by: Bunmiadefisayo

I'm thinking...why is there such a stark contrast between British humour/ comedy and American humour/ comedy? One is more sophisticated than the other ( i leave you to decide which )

Posted by: singinginmycar

My British friend wonders why most Americans like the Brits. Any comments on why some of us are such Anglophiles?

Who is this witty Brit named "Ice" I keep hearing about?

Posted by: singinginmycar

I'm thinking that house builders have a sick sense of humor. I can hear their voices form 1973 mocking me as I try to install a new faucet in my bathroom...

"Hey, let's make this so inaccessible that if the faucet breaks, the owner will have to have back surgery after trying to install the new one!"

"Great idea, man. Whoah, I think that dope we smoked before we put the sink in is wearing off. We gotta get some more before we screw up, whoops, I mean screw in the faucet, man."

Frustration drives me to rant to people I don't even know...

Thanks for listening.

Maybe im just impatient.

Posted by: singinginmycar

I'm thinking: maybe I am a thread killer. Or, maybe I am impatient, too. Come on, people, post your thoughts. Do it for RAcast because he's friggin awesome!

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Now now, I'm not great at all. It's just a title--not official, but thank you anyone.

And no, you are NOT a thread killer.

Hell, you've posted a bunch on here lately.

Thanks.

I'm thinking:

I'm thinking:

If it's a final fantasy, doesn't that mean that there should only be one? Final denotes ummm... the end doesn't it???

Posted by: ianelarazure

Glad you asked.

Here we go, back in 1989, a failing company "Square", decided to put all its resources and money into one final project, obviously entitled "Final Fantasy". Well, when they released it, the game was HUGE, sold millions, and started a franchise. Since then Square has evolved into Squaresoft, and now Square-Enix. Their "Final Fantasy", turned into the biggest RPG franchise for consoles ever. Final Fantasy XII comes out next year!

I am sure you hated hearing that as much as I loved telling it. But I love that story.

This happened again today, but what are you going to do? As I was cruising along the feeder road, stuck behind a Grand Marquis going 35 in a 50, I thought to myself, 'there must be an old lady at the wheel.' When I finally got to pass the car, I saw, to my dismay, that not only was an old lady driving it, but she was also talking on a cell phone. It's like two of the worst driving stereotypes rolled into one.

hmmm... here's a thought... more sugar in Quaker's Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal...

Posted by: singinginmycar

A thought from a book I just read: Someone drowning in a sewer is concerned with the fact that they are drowning, not that they smell.

Posted by: ianelarazure

I dont know why but that reminded me of Dane Cook.

Im thinking:

It would not be fun to be drowning in the abyss, and then someone pour oil on the top of the water, and light it on fire. As well as some big guy punching you every time you came up at a non-firy(spelling?) spot.

Posted by: singinginmycar

I think I understate it when I say, bummer.

That makes me think of the story of Tantalus in Greek mythology who was perpetually thirsty and was standing in water up to his chin. But, he could never drink the water because the level would go down below his reach every time he tried.

We get the word tantalize from his name.

Posted by: Bunmiadefisayo

Yeah, so im thinking 2 things;

1) who the heck came up with abbreviations like "wtf" or "lol" or "lmao"?

2) why couldnt that tantalus guy have just, i dont know, fall into teh water and submerge himself?

Just a thought

Posted by: ianelarazure

Im thinking:

Fast water? Maybe he was not a very agile person, very slow.

Posted by: Hambones

I'm thinking he should've just gotten himself a glass.

Posted by: singinginmycar

I'm thinking that Tantalus should have come to OTS for thirst support!

Posted by: Bunmiadefisayo

The above statement is an example of what got Icebreaker in trouble with the ruling junta of OTS.

Muscle pain or Bone pain? I mean, is it sharp, like stabbing, or more suttle, like bruised?

Im thinking:

Im no expert, but I have had scoliosis for 8 years. Oh, and I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.

I'm thinking...I wish I had some C-4 so I could blow up one of my Terminal Servers!

It's like two of the worst driving stereotypes rolled into one.

Was she also asian, perchance?

Is it now? I don't remember...

They call people "dummies" because they are dumb...do they call crash test dummies that because they don't talk or because they are dumb or what?

odd...

In a dark time, the eye begins to see...

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye

Posted by: Hambones

An eye for an eye...a tooth for a tooth.

Posted by: Bix VT

then there would be a lot of people with gappy grins that couldn't drive.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

I remember that one-eyed line dude from Turok 2.

I'm thinking:

I got pwned by Seymour Flux..

TWICE.

Damn Full-Life.

Posted by: Bunmiadefisayo

Im thinking...i posted a comment here about blind men leading blind men and one of two things happened to it;

1) It was deleted
2) My boss came into the office and i panicked and clicked off OTS before i could click "post quick reply." In which case i am SERIOSULY losing touch with reality.

Shame on you Bun, for posting on company time.

You need to do it more often. everywhere

Fable better not suck .. it was expensive..

I'm thinking ... five days before Star Wars DVDs, and five days before Smallville season premiere... very heavenly coincidence...

Posted by: Bix VT

I'm thinking...you could buy me a set of those star wars DVDs too!

But really...

they should come out with EF III and Starcraft II.

And what's the difference between a switch and a hub?

I know, i know

I'm thinking ... they should really outlaw cellphones on the road. One hand slowly moving the steering wheel when doing a tight left turn in a congested intersection while beating a red light is STUPID... especially when the driver seems oblivious to the honking around her...

They have, in Washington DC. It's very nice, but it still doesn't prevent the suburbs where I live from having idiots try to kill people.

I'm thinking I should go now, take a shower, get a computer assembled for my friend, and then get my stupid webspace working.

I sincerely hope everyone enjoys their day.

AH! So Bix lives in DC eh? Cool, maybe i have even seen you on the metro once or twice

Im thinking...wear a Bix-VT T_Shirt everywhere you go so i can come up to you and say hi.

I'll be moving to Georgtown once my sister gets to the US.

Posted by: Bix VT

I live in Norhtern VA, near the springfield interchange. I didn't know you were that close, maybe we can get together some time...

I'm thinking it's a small world...

oh, and I rarely, if ever, ride the metro

Or on the thing..

Here is a thought:

XIII is a good game, and it was only 10 bucks. Chrono Cross is a good game too, but I don't yet about MOH Rising Sun.

Posted by: taco_fox

To further my thought that this area is a magnet for bad drivers, here's another anecdote. I was walking through a mostly empty parking lot to get to my truck and was safely walking where the all the lines were rather than in the "driving" part. Along comes a Mexican (not being derogatory; he was driving a Chevy Metro with Mexico license plates) tearing through the lot when he suddenly decides he wants to be on the other side of the lot. So instead of taking advantage of the ample empty space around me, he decides to come within two feet of taking my legs out. I give him a look, but he was oblivious.

must...resist...racial...comment...

I simply can't anymore.

I'm a cracker.

is it ok to call yourself a cracker if you're white, if it is ok for african-americans to call each other n*****s?

I'm thinking...thats a bloody good question. Although i dont go around calling myself (or my friends) n****s. I just hate the term.

BTW- what if you are not an african-american, is it ok to dissociate oneself from the term?

I'm thinking:

Racial issues? Wtf??

Work sucks, frig you derivatives!

Posted by: Hambones

I'm thinking:

Uncle Sam takes like a third of my check every month, and then I turn around and pay tax again if I want to buy something! This might as well be a socialist economy!
