I have a Toshiba Satellite and some how the bios password got put on and i have no idea what it is. So my husband and I are wondering how we can get it off so we can use the computer again. We took the laptop it a computer store and they said that they coudn't get to the motherboard to get to the battery and disable it. So if anybody can help me. We would really love to hear from you.

Thank You very much
Mrs. Shelly Mitchell

This is a bit of a tricky one, but the answer may be on the following website:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/index.html?cmospwd.html

Scroll down to the link to 'KeyDisk'. Double click this to open up a window, to download the application to your computer (you'll need to double click it to run it). I've not used this application myself, but would expect it to create a bootable floppy disk that will enable you to clear/change the BIOS password, on your laptop.

If this doesn't work, then you could try to make the loopback plug, as shown on the same webpage.

Hope this helps.
