Hi, I hope someone can help me - My technical knowledge of computer hardware is very limited (I've exchanged a modem and cd drive and that's about it). The other day shortly after I turned on my computer it went dead on me - no warnings or errors was just suddenly off. I figure the power supply died, but someone told my husband that there should be a fuse that might have blown. I've looked for a fuse but don't see one - is there possibly a fuse, or is it my power supply (or something I have no clue about). Since I don't know that much about hardware, I'm not sure how much info you'd need for this, but I'll give what I know.
Computer was built in October 2001 by EBC Computers

CASEDGE 734 P4 325Watts
Thanks,
Sue

it could be the power supply. it could also be overheating or some other part dying.
now for the tricky part. power supplies do not normally blow fuses, and one that does should be replaced in any event. if you have a compatable power supply (350W P4 or more) in another working computer , switch them. if not, they arent that expensive and can be returned if its not the problem. but the power supply is a reasonable place to start.

Thanks Redwench
I don't think it's just overheating, as I haven't been able to get it to turn on again. I think it's probably the power supply, but thought I'd ask about the fuse just in case, so I'll start there
Thanks
Sue
