D2 wont start!!

When I click on the d2 icon or even put in the disc again, it loads but d2 wont start! Whats wrong? I got an error message and got booted off and now cant start up game!!!

Does the error apply to D2 or LOD?
Post the specific error message.
Post your system specs.
Make sure you have the latest patch.
