Freelancer Video Issues

I just bought Freelancer for PC, and I installed it. Everything is fine, except that when the game gets into cinematic sequences, the foreground is just a light brown sillohette (sp?) on the background. I have the latest patch, and the latest drivers for my video card. Any help?
2.0 Ghz Pentium Celeron
768mb ddr ram
geforce4 mx 440se w/64mb (pci)
intel I845gl mobo

Do a complete uninstall/reinstall + apply the patch again.
