Well my friend wants a new comp and he gave the list and wanted to know if they are good

They look good, few things though. 9800 Pro is alot faster than 9600xt i realize its more but it has twice the pipelines.
I'd highly recommend name brand memory. (Kingston, Corsair, OCZ, Crucial, Mushkin etc.)
The board is good, it maybe personal preference but I'd rather an nforce3 250 board. MSI K8N Neo Platinum is about 120.
Other than that it looks fine.

its low on ram, and the sound card might not be necessary if theres built in sound.

yea about that ram i was thinking 512 for now and upgrade later and is using a stick of Mushkin 512MB DDR PC3200 400MHz Memory better? and I convinced him to switch it to the 9800 pro thanks for the replys btw

Don't bother with that sound card, it's not much of an upgrade from onboard. And like Superfly said, go for the 9800PRO, it's the best bang for the buck card out there.

yeah man, i got 512MB of ram and i regreted it, get at least 1GB of ram now days and STAY AWAY FROM SOUND BLASTER LIVE!!! i recommend hercules fortissimo III 7.1 (http://us.hercules.com/products/sho...hp?p=56&b=0&f=1)
