I currently have Charter Cable for my televisions and Charter Pipeline for my internet service. I intended to switch to SBC YAHOO DSL for my internet service because in my area it would save me money combining DSL with my monthly phone bill which is also with SBC. After reading some of these horror stories that have been posted, I don't know if I made the right decision or not. I already have my DSL kit complete with the CD, but am mortified to use it now. Is there anyone out there that has had a pleasant experience with the DSL?

The only problem I've had with it was the first month I got it. They start your speed out slow, then slowly increase the available bandwidth until it becomes unstable. According to them. Anyway, about the third week and it was at about 1/10 of the advertised speed.

Called them up, and they'd forgotten to increase it from the starting point :| So uh, if it doesn't seem to be going like it should, call them up and ask.

Another thing, the software provided is absolute crap bloatware, don't use it.

Other than that, it's been rock solid for me. I've had one outage in a like a year, and that was due to local line work.

sometimes it depends on your location cause subscribers located outside or too far from the central office experienced more latency problems
