i think your ideal answer for better sat scores would be less internet, more studying.

Yeah, take a prep course or somethin if you're really struggling.
I took an ACT prep course which I felt was absolutely worthless (both before and after going to the class), but somehow, I scored 2 points better after taking the thing (and that was in a hungover state). The prep course tought really basic stuff, but if you're having as much trouble as it sounds like you are.... it might be a good idea.

Well, I think I see where part of your problem is coming from...
"I really hate SATs. They're so stupid." <----correct

Can tests really be stupid? Is it in their capacity to have intelligence, or the lack thereof?

I would have to suggest turning off the computer and actually do some reviewing... granted you cannot really "review" for something that tests your aptitude (which is really a culmination of everything you've learned from the first time you went to school up to this point), brushing up on past subjects would be very helpful ... buying/borrowing an SAT review book(s) can also help - not directly coz of its contents but indirectly since it helps stimulate your mind and prepare you for the test...
Thing is, you need to be comfortable reading all that stuff. Some people can pass the SATs without reviewing, but that's only if they're smart enough in the first place...

Brush up on your vocab. That will help a lot.

Don't forget to get a good amount of sleep, and eat something before the test.
Prep work can help, so don't be afraid to try.
Agreed on vocab. Brush up, as that is where I struggled, and I got a 1300.

I find it funny that everyone generally does worse on the verbal than on their math. It goes without saying that most people here in my school are like that, but even in high school, there was a reasonable crowd of people who hated math but excelled in the humanities. That same crowd of people also scored higher on the math in general than on the verbal.
Which always made me wonder, why even though math was one of my best subjects in grammer school and high school, I did more poorly on the math than I did on the verbal... I think it's because I talk to myself too much. Well, not too much. Just a lot more than most other people, I imagine.
So if you want to do well on verbal, start talking to yourself a litle more. Hold conversations, arguments, or what have you... it works!
(According to my AI professor, talking to yourself does make you smarter.)

I've always scored much better in verbal tests than math tests... just the habit of regularly reading books (especially fiction) significantly increases verbal aptitude

I was a huge bookworm after I learned to read onward. Like, I read books as though I had a virulent mutated book-reading disease. So much so, that it started to cut into my study time in other subjects and I performed considerably worse in those.
Also, I was lazy. But it made for astounding reading comprehension , vocabulary and spelling scores. I just wish more of the grammar wore off on me.
I guess the moral is , read a lot.... But not too much.
Oh yeah, if you really wanted someone to type SAT prep in Google, heres like the first thing that came up.Link

well... i hate SAT's and those other tests, but all i can do is do my best. i already took a prep course. and i just read two books with alot of important vocabulary that i learned. so maybe ill get an extra 100 points on the verbal. my score goal is to get a 1200(600 for each part)
