when i put in a cd windows media player automatically pops up and plays the cd. How do I prevent windows media player from playing my CD's and using the cd player program in windows 98. I have windows 98 second edition.

If you don't want Windows Media Player to automatically play a CD by default, goto:
Windows Media Player -> Tools -> Options -> File Types Tab -> Then uncheck the "Music CD Playback" option. You can also uncheck other file formats if you want. They are all listed in that menu.

Cheers!
