Cannot Access Port

A few days ago, my computer was running really slow and I made the mistake of trying to delete some programs using the "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel.

In any case, I now realize that I just needed Spyware, but in the meantime, I can't access anything connected to my USB port. I get a "Error, Cannot Access Port" message.

In addition, I can't get any sound on the computer either. I'm running Creative Sound Blaster and each time I try to get some sound it tells me that it is looking for an updated driver and then just hangs with the hour glass.

I went to system settings to try to update the driver and I get the mesage "The NTKERN.VXD and MMDEVLRD.VXD device loaders for this driver could not load the device drive. I chooser "update driver" there and it hangs as well.

Anybody know if there is anything I can do. I'm running Windows ME and have tried to restore to an earlier time, but it won't let me.

Thanks...
