I get my adsl through a router and i can browse, connect to servers, but i can recieve info from other people so i never connect to them. What do I do?

Did you mean to say you can't receive info from other people? If so, are you saying that people can't make inbound connections to you?
The above quote is confusing to me because it's not clear whether you're having trouble connecting to someone or that person is having trouble connecting to you.
