aim problem

my aim was working fine untill a couple days ago... then when i go to start it up it gets stuck on "starting services"....when i go to "show buddy list" it shows me most of the buddy list except for the names of ppl...i cant comunicate to them anyways. i have tried re-installing and mostly everything else i can do

Since your AIM buddy list is stored on AOL's servers, the names not showing up is a glitch on their side. As for the other issues, I would suggest re-installing the program, but make sure that you uninstall the non-working version first. You can uninstall the program using the Add/Remove Programs wizard in the control panel.
I've never really heard of AIM incompatibilities, and especially since it was working for you before, my best guess is that it's in the installation.
If that doesn't work (even if it does, this is good stuff to run), download and run SpyBot(adware/spyware remover), AdAware (adware/spyware remover), and ZoneAlarm (firewall protection).

I sign on alot so the glitch would have happened to me(don't question I've had aim for 3 years)
BeKZoR is probably right, you probably have spyware.
