hi...HELP!!!

my printer not working recently. i've tried reinstall the driver but the problem is the computer can't even detect my printer port?!

can somebody please tell me what's going on?

Make sure your printer is powered on. Test it on another computer, if possible. Uninstall the driver, and reinstall it with the appropriate CD it came with (or use Windows generic drivers). Are there any error messages?

Make sure the wires are plugged in (securely) to both the printer and your computer. Make sure the printer has power, paper, and ink. Some printers will stop working when there is no ink left. Make sure there are no orange/yellow/red lights flashing on your printer. Green is usually the standard for 'okay', but flashing, or any other color may indicate a problem.

Thanks for your reply...
I've tried everything including testing on another printer which work out to be fine. The error message during installation is "unable to locate printer". Does is mean it is a port problem?

have you got your printer fixed? i got mine to work, but it required a reformat. apparently my raid0 setup was bunking up my drivers and wiped out my usb drivers.

How old is your computer? If it is over two years old, I have fixed problems like this by simply replacing the battery. A weak battery can cause some strange problems.
