MY friend's computer crashed forever because a he had a elctricity thing all the lights flashed in his house and he didnt have the "safe socket" connected to his computer.
His computer went down and dosent work anymore.
So did the Monitor!

not having at least a surge protector is just asking for trouble

that was perceptive of you taco, to figure out that a "electricity thing when all the lights flashed in his house" was indeed a powersurge. I actually use a UPS now as it is the only way to completely protect your PC. Also, you will want to check out how many amps or joules your surge protector can handle, once it goes over the specified amount, your warrenty is void.

Oh Yeah, Thyre Called The Surges.
P.S. I Dont Have One I Got A Laptop.

It would take more than god himself to bring my system down with a power surge. Lightning could litterally hit the power lines going into my house and the 1770 joules would go "That tickles". I have an APC UPS too, but I dont use it(dont have room for it really).

yes, house surge protectors are recommended. but a surge protector or ups is still needed on the computer, since there are interior surges in your wiring due to various things cycling on and off.

Skyhn.. I am reminded of the Titanic

We have an apc ups on every pc in our house (besides the laptop) and when we have a power problem we don't worry. It pays to protect yourself!
