greetings,i was just wandering if the built in firewall on xp is the only one you need or is it advisable to have another one running?thanks

Posted by: redwench

well, only have 1 running, more than one will cause problems. that said, the xp firewall is better than nothing, but its far worse than even the free ones available online. i would recommend acquiring a free one, or buying one, and turning xp off.

what exactly are the problems with the built-in firewall?

Posted by: redwench

it doesnt seem to do much

The built-in firewall doesn't block outbound traffic and can't restrict traffic by program, only port.
