I find that to be quite amusing

rofl.

actually, i have no doubt he uses every browser he can get his hands on. thats how people improve things, they play with their competitors stuff

Posted by: SKYHN

Or perhaps hes using it because their preparing to release their IE7 Firefox Clone.

A good sign that Microsoft's head of security is not as close-minded as some people

Hey, Im running WinME, the one everyone says is the worst one.

Posted by: Ocean

win i upgrade to winxp pro, you can have my win2k cd. i feel sorry for you.

Posted by: RAcastClarke

Heck, I use Windows 98se, and it works just fine.

No problems here, though I don't have internet access on that machine, so..

Posted by: SKYHN

Yeah 98SE is my fav. WinME is just as good, if you tweak it. And the other good thing about WinME, hardly any viruses come out for it. Their mostly all 2k/XP now. Even some of the 98se ones dont work on WinME.

The only drawback is I cant play Doom 3 on here. But with the hardware on this system, it wouldnt be enjoyable anyways.

Windows 2000 is good, but I can't play any old-school games, of which I have a TON.

I've never used FireFox..is it decent??

if compatability mode doesnt work u can usually find fixes that will let u play the older games

It's ok. It's getting nearer to it's full version 1. Right now i believe it's at 0.9.1 and it's ok.

If you still want to use IE or more specifically IE's core. You can download MYIE2 which uses IE's core. It just gives you additional stuff much like Firefix has, tabbed browsing, better security etc etc.

Actually it's .9.3 right now.

Actually, a preview of 1.0 is out right now

Posted by: SKYHN

Has anyone tried 1.0 yet? Im holding off on it because a lot of the .9 extensions wont work with it.

bugmenot interests me heavily

I'm using it now. The best tmprovements over 9.3 seem to be a lot obetter plug-in management. No more constant plug-in install pop up messages. It's also easier to monitor what pop-ups are getting blocked and selecting which ones you actually want to pop-up.

haha - I bet he hates not having tabbed browsing as much as i do using IE ........

My computer was having tons of browser hijacks and popups and even though I would religiously use spybot, adaware, and hijackthis, the problems kept on coming back WORSE in a few hours. I had already run firefox before and I figured it was time I downloaded it again. I started it up and instantly, no homepage viruses, popups or browser hijack attempts. IMO, there is no comparison firefox RULES!

I would have been suprised if he wasnt....Bill Gates probably uses it. IE certainly doesn't do nearly as a good of a job(i.e. blocking adware, spyware, etc...tab browsing etc..) as firefox, you would have to be slow not to realize that.
