Don't know if this has been done yet but ZLRAC's post got me wondering where you guys get your desktop images from..
A couple of my favorite sites are these 2: http://www.cgtalk.com/ and http://www.highend3d.com/artists/
hope you enjoy..

Ocean's Wallpapers

I can't remember the site, but it had to do with having wallpaper that was actually a *.gif file and you could have wallpaper like actual waterfalls with moving water. (probably a system resource drain) Most of these you had to pay for too. Check out...

It's a free screensaver download site where in the settings for the screensaver you can turn them into moving wallpaper. There will appear other choices besides 'patriotic' which I think you will also like Ocean (based on your nic/avatar/and wallpaper you create)

Well i have plenty, www.wincustomize is a first step in visual modification, from bootskins, to logon screens and objectdock. Sites try: digitalblasphemy.com prinz.org.de 3d-wallpaper.com, best way to find latest and popular is to search google images for 3d, hi-res, trippy, reflect. I have plenty of cars from rotarys, v8 and super jap's. If you need any please email me LDubyaa@hotmail.com and i will customize them to your spec's, also i do bootskins of all categories. Im currently working on screensavers at the moment using a opensource code editor and vector raster morpher prog.

For awhile I was really into www.digitalblasphemy.com for their freebies (and even though about subscribing), but eventually got a digital camera instead and have been using scenic shots that I've taken since then. I find that photos tend to last much longer as wallpapers than anything else.
