hey, I got a
sv266a
athlon xp 2400+
radeon 9800 pro
512 pc133
60 gig maxtor
windows xp pro sp2

I just bought another 512 stick of pc133 ram to upgrade to a gig of ram, when i put the second stick in it gets up to the windows splash screen and then restarts and keeps doing it. I know both the sticks work because i took the first stick out and put the new on in and it worked fine. both sticks work fine seperatly. The problem only occures when both sticks are in. I read a forum and found out that this mobo is very picky with ram settings and he said he fixed it by manual timing. anyone know a solution. by the way the new stick of ram is vdata and the old stick is a brand i bought at staples about a year and a half ago.

if the sticks have different timings, that certainly could do it. just being from different manufacturers might be enough. the motherboard slot could also be screwy.

both slot are fine i have put then in both and they both worked..i know how to change the timing in the bios im just not sure what to change it to.

change it to the slowest one and see if it starts up, and then up the level of it untill it reboots again.
