depends on your area... I've always had good results with Earthlink, but that was more than 5 years ago....

Yeah..don't get CapitalNet, though. It's probably local but it SUCKS.

My brother uses DellNet, and it works nice. Good download speed 6kpbs+, which I think is decent for 56k, considering I get 1.4kpbs.

Heh maybe I should have named this something else.

The computer is somehow limiting the speed of the modem. I am fairly sure that my equipment can get a better connection than 26k. It has in the past. Any hardware fixes?

It may be your phone lines in your house, the box on your street or the cable your using to connect your modem to the wall. Older wires usually cut the speeds in half.

You'll wan't to stay away from AOL also.
