Linksys Wireless Connection Problems...

i have a linksys router along with a wireless card. before my computer was out of the range of the linksys router so i went out and got a range expander. for a while the connectin was steady and fine. but now i cant get on the internet anymore. the signal says that its "very good" and i normally have the speeds of up to 54 mbs but like i said despite all this i still cant get online. i cant search teh web or sign onto AIM or anything! i've tried just about everything and nothing seems to be working. any help would be appreciated.
