i already read the book and its kinda disturbing....

others who have read it said that it will test your faith especially if you are a christian.

well, it did... but i still believe its up to the one whose reading it...

so, if you had read it, what can you say then?

nyway... here's some mind boggling and brain twister test they have for the readers...

i have read it, it's freaking trippy dude

its really fun to play the game if you had read it...

having the feeling of being one of the characters in the book is so cool....

How nifty... google ads actually DO work! This one here is advertising for the Da Vinci Code book on Amazon!

I laugh at any christians that read that book. Not because you read tha book and your faith was tested, but that you have a faith to begin with...

yup, we already have the faith. many said it will test your faith. but for me, it will just make your faith stronger and stick on what you believe in.

my brother read the book, and while we were both raised roman catholics, he said that the book "persuades" the reader a bit too much - it was an interesting premise, entertaining to read, but cannot really be considered a textbook on any kind of faith... it is, after all, still a work of fiction, not unlike Fahrenheit 9/11

It's really up to you on how you want to make up your own mind. I myself haven't read it yet, but I may in the future, and I don't really expect it to change the way I think about organized religion today.

Tomcat, you're entitled to your opinion, but let's try to keep faith bashing at a minimum, shall we?

heaven forbid people read books that interest them

I apologize.

How is the book like Fahrenheit 9/11? Because it is controversial?

I consider it similar because, while some parts of it may be lifted off real events, the gist was still a person's opinion, or one molded from a person's understanding of the facts given to him ... that was what my brother said ... it presented some interesting premises that try so hard to convince you, but ultimately you have to make up your own mind whether you want to believe them or not, and your final impressions will be influenced by your way of thinking before you viewed the work.

Who needs books ? The alt.newsgroups are a MUCH better source = you get to promote your own view interactively (and to be honest this group should be reserved for Tech. support material).
Have fun !!

hey, so nice of you to tell us what to post in an off topic forum

oh, hi...

I see what you and your prother mean, but I still would shy away from calling simialr simply because Michael Moore's movie was MEANT to spark contreversey, while the Da Vinci Code was just a book, a work of fiction. I think people loose sight of that fact sometimes. But I do agree, they both represent someone's opinions.
