what's bunny hopping in cs?
I remember in q2 we called people who jumped around the map (gaining extreme speeds at times) bunnies, but it may be something different in CS.

Same thing in CS, people who are constantly jumping. If they're actually pressing the button repeatedly, I dont' care, but if they use some cheat script to do it, they should be banned from the server.

yeah well bunny hopping in quake 2 was one of the more difficult things to do properly.
I mean, not only could you move almost 1/3rd faster than running players, if you get the angles right you can make INSANE jumps which most people usually ban you for (CHEATER!)
Christ, on q2dm1 alone there are at least 5 examples of jumps you can make with the proper speed and/or timing.
I played this one dude once who flew.
I mean FFS he didn't even touch the ground.
was damn good too, kicked my ass so bad at first I started chasecaming him to see what he did.
and boy did I get a lesson.
spent the next 4 games practicing thoose jumps, played him again and it was one of the toughest, hardest, most skilled matches I've had in years.

Bunny Hopping in CS is kinda like that Bish. It's otherwise known as "strafe-jumping." And no Swilo, it's not done by tapping the space bar repeatedly, nor does it require scripts (although some lamers do use scripts).
I personally think it's just cool as long as you don't use scripts to do it.

Basically everyone's gripe about it is that it enables bunnyhoppers to move faster than a normal player can. Therefore, in their terms, it's a cheat.
IMHO I just think it's cool and doesn't really affect gameplay either way.

I voted "I don't care," because either way I really don't. It enables you to move much, much faster than other players. I'm not sure if any of you play TFC, but in TFC an HWGuy can move along faster than a scout.
In CS it renders gameplay and messes up the swing of the game. I'm against it in CS, and now that I think about it I'm probably against it in TFC, also. As Spider said, it is a flaw in the game that's not intented.
TFC has more of a "goofy, calm" mode and I don't mind it. In TFC I'm always trying weird stuff out. I don't mind if they leave it there, but in CS I feel it should be removed. It's along the same lines of speedcheating.
Each of my paragraphs contradicts another, which is once again why I chose "I don't care."

Personally I think its an exploit of the game. Although it does take a long time to master to do it. But there isn't much point in arguing because it is going to be fixed in v1.0.0.3/v1.3!
I can't wait till new patch
