Sorry if you all are seeing this again...wrong forum before.
Ok...have a problem that's making me crazy! Whenever I browse ebay listings, I get a "Network Cable Unplugged" error and lose my internet connection. If I wait ~2mins, it comes back all by itself, but continually occurs. If I navigate away from the ebay pages, I have no problems. This is not a problem with my cables, modem, router or ISP service. I am running Windows XP Home with the new SP2. This error ONLY occurs when trying to browse ebay listings, and started about a week ago (before SP2 was installed). I have run spyware and virus scans and haven't found anything. I have disabled firewall, tried to find all significant updates and using a non ie browser. I have noticed in my searches that some other people have had this problem as well, and I am desperately looking for a solution.... any ideas anyone? Your suggestions are appreciated!

I too have had this horrid problem. Ebay support doesn't have a clue. It happens only on some of their pages. The simpler ones seem to load OK. This only happens on ebay listing pages. I think it may have to do with my network configuration or something because I lose internet connectivity on both of my pc's on the LAN. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
This was a bug with ebay coding done for secure pages to be compatible for linux and unix based platforms.
For some reason it (code ) experiments with Windows network sockets in very tripping way that break auto wins and pppoe and other connection strings.
NO can do for it till now.
Bye

Shaleigh, I bet that it's your firewall! I had the EXACT same problem and even disabling ZoneAlarm didn't help but I forgot that my wireless router is also a firewall! A trip to their website revealed that a firmware upgrade to my unit was available. I downloaded and ran the upgrade, re-setup the router and the problem is GONE! Try it!
