Westell DSL modem web hosting problem

I need help setting up a web server. I'm doing it for my own education, not for business. The web server is up and running, I just can’t set up my router correctly, I think that’s the problem. A lot of people have posted on this topic all over the net, but yet I cant get it to work. Maybe some one can help me and point out what I’m missing. I have set up ports on the router for Warcraft and bittorrent so I know somewhat how to do this
I have a Westell 2100 DSL modem dynamic connection. Under configure/NAT I’ve tried the HTTP service, that didn’t work. So I manually put in port 80 using all 3 of the NAT options (Port Forwarding with Translation, Port Fowarding Ranges of Ports, Trigger Ports), I’m not really sure which one of those its supposed to be, but none of them do the job. Any hints or suggestions?

I have the exact same Westell modem. You need to go to ip passthrough, and configure it for your pc. I had to do that to set up my FTP server, you shouldnt have to do anything with NAT, that I know of.

so in my browser the IP address I would use the WAN IP Address : 65.9.75.232 of the modem
I tired it and it still didnt work. It says operation timed out. Not sure if that means the DSL modem is holding it up or the what. I even tried installing an FTP server, still no luck passing info. Ill keep messing around hopefully come across something.

Thanks

You need to go to something in your Router config about ip passthrough. It might be called something different. You might want to contact your provider. Look for something dealing with passing your IP address assigned to the router....to your pc.

When you go to that IP address, it goes to your router, but your site isnt stored there. It is on your pc. So you have to pass your IP address on to your pc, so you can view your site outside the router.

I hope that made sense.
