Need help with internet explorer

My computer has been acting up i can get into all my messengers but its really slow but i cant get into internet explorer iit usully comes up really fast but now it takes forever and sometimes doesnt even come up, a friend says it might be trojan if it is how do i get rid of it or if its something else and tell me whates wrong wit it would help me out alot thanks

check out these things:
for virus check and removal goto Trend Micro
also check out AVG
for spyware and adware removal use Spybot Search and Destroy

first run your maintenance programs, like scandisk/checkdisk, defrag, cleanup, etc.
check your startup list, and disable any program you dont need on startup. if theres any real junk in there, uninstall it from the computer.
reboot if you need to, then run online scans from http://housecall.trendmicro.com and www.trojanscan.com
next, tackle the spyware with spybot, adaware, and spywareblaster .
there are some specific utilities to deal with anything thats left.

Tell me... to you have toolbars and the such? If you have a lot of BHO(Browser Helper Objects) that would certainly slow down the loading time of your IE.
