W32.Mexer.E@mm is a new mass-mailing worm that also spreads through several file-sharing networks. As usual, it is spread through email attachments

Why do people even bother creating annoyances like this. There is no point to it, except for maybe pride. That is a little sadistic though, dont you think?

Because it's too easy to create them for hackers. And there doesn't seem to be a short supply of people who don't think E Mail attachments can be harmful. A lot of people think their virus scanner which hasn't been updated in 6 months will take care of anything bad..
