Hi Everyone:
Will try to make this as detailed as possible. My computer does not log off or turn off when you promt it to. IE runs slowly and freezes if I try to open another window. MSN Messenger is going crazy, it shows I have everyone of my contacts 3 times. Somtimes IE window just disappears. And sometime I can't access "my computer" Can anyone HELP with this, I am losing it now. I tried scanning for viruses ( of course nothing showed up). Was thinking of de frag, any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Hi, I am not a pro but I will tell you what I would do. First I would download (if possible) Spybot S&D. Get the updates for it. Then run it. Fix anything that comes up. Then I would run Disk Cleanup. This is in your system tools. After that I would then run a Defrag. When that is complete I would reboot your computer. When it is back up, and all the programs are loaded I would then do a through Scan Disk to check for any errors. After that I would reboot again. Then try everything out and see if it's any better. If it is not I would then try the Internet Explorer Repair Tool. this is in the System Tools/ System Information. After all this if it is still acting up I would try another Spybot run. Sometimes it finds something such as a DSO Exploit and says it removed it but the next time you scan it comes up again. In this case you have to manually delete the registry key listed by Spybot. If none of these steps work I would usually finally resort to a reformat. I hope this helps you out. Thank you and have a nice day.

I deleted some stuff I dloaded recently and did what you said. It seems to be working better now. The only thing is I can't shut down the computer, only if I hold the power switch in for a while that's when it shuts down. Any help with this?

Thanks in advance.
P.S. Just noticed IE freeze for a bit and then run again

Hi, I need to know which steps you took so far? It sounds to me like you are on the right track though. Which is excellent. Post back on the steps you took so far and we can go from there.
