Car Impound?

Anyone ever buy a car from an impound lot? Can anyone just do it? My question is are there really newer cars from 500-1000 dollars? Alot of these I heard are 90% off KBB.
Can anyone comment? I also heard there is one in Camden, NJ.

you're not going to get a 2 or 3 year old car for $500

I know at police auctions you can get cars pretty cheap.
I don't know about the Impound. And Camden is a nice area, i swear
