General Game Hosting Problems

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I read many posts about certain hosting issues with games, and some explain part of the problem, and others don't.

My problem is not the hosting itself, but the continuous connection. Well, that sounded confusing....

Anyways, my problem is that I can host a game under any platform, wether it be Steam, half-life, Warcraft III, or unreal Tournament, but other people have constant trouble staying in contact. They would get dropped or disconnected often, and especially on Warcraft III, would all get disconnected from me at once! It would appear that people have a hard time staying in contact with my host, and would get dropped and diconnected once every minute or so, it seems.

i don't know how to approach this problem. it may be the hardware i'm using, and internet setting, a program i have installed on my computer, or my internet connection itself.

Currently, i'm running a computer with fairly high statistics, in teh 2 Ghz range, 1 GB RAM, 9600 Radeon card, etc. Nothing wrong with speed.

This is the internet stuff I'm running...

-Windows XP w/ SP1 and all updates (NOT using SP2)
-Cable Internet Connection (1mb download, 256k upload)
-Linksus Cable Modem model BEFCMU10 ver. 3
-U.S. Robotics USR8003 Broadband Router
-All firewalls turned off with connections

Any help would be great, especially from anyone who had this problem solved before. Thanks alot.
