Dear GeoCities Member:
Congratulations, http://www.geocities.com/wegetsignal is
very popular and
has been receiving a large amount of traffic. Your
site has become so popular, in fact, that our records indicate that
you're
using more than the allotted amount of data transfer we provide
for a free
web site, which is 3GB/month (measured on an hourly basis).
In the past we have not enforced that limit, so your site has been
uneffected
thus far. However, shortly, all free member sites
transferring more than
the allowable data limit will be disabled
for portions of the day until
usage falls to within the prescribed
limits.
---------------------------------
this may be just a generic message to people who didn't sign up for the geopremium BS (they ask you to do this later on in the e-mail), but if this only goes out to sites with high traffic.. I have to ask..
wtf?!?

It's Yahoo!'s way of promoting you to Professional Webmaster.
Congrats!

I don't see how.
I spent all of 5 minutes putting that site together (I mean really, when you get down to it uploading images to a directory doesn't qualify).

its probably the music you posted. those are fairly large files.
Posted by: Bishop
that's on another server alltogether.
Posted by: redwench
you have anything large on the geocities server?
Posted by: Bishop
if you were to go into every section and view every picture, you would have gotten around 5 mbs.
Posted by: redwench
so that would be about 1k hits a month, thats only about 30 a day. assuming that most dont hit everything on the site, 50 per day. thats 2 hits an hour.
that could be happening.

that sucks, but now you are so popular
