D2 3D on Diamond Viper V550 (nvidia riva tnt) 16mb

I am trying to run Diablo 2 in 3d mode on:
P2 - 300, 256MB RAM, Diamond Viper V550 graphics card (16MB Nvidia Riva TNT), Soundblaster AWE64 Gold sound
Diablo 2 runs just fine in 2d mode. Whenever I switch to 3d mode Diablo 2 starts fine but when I get to the "home" screen with the options the graphics are all messed up. The graphics are blocky and weird colors and make no sense. I can "escape" out of the program just fine. When I move the mouse I can see a LARGE cursor (block) moving around. It just appears to be a display problem.
I have had this problem since I first got Diablo 2 but was content to play in 2D mode (until now).
I have the latest driver for my video card from Diamond. I tried going to the Nvidia site but there were server errors there. I've downloaded all the latest DirectX updates from MS too.
Any suggestions (other than upgrading my graphics card)?
Has anyone gotten Diablo 2 3D to work on this configuration?
Has anyone even HAD this problem with 3D on this configuration?
Thanks

Goto the link below and download the latest WHQL drivers. They should help.

Do you know which if the drivers supports the Riva TNT chipset? I downloaded 6.50, 6.67, 12.41, and 12.90 and they all had support for TNT2 but not TNT. Is there one of the drivers included in the zip files that I can safely use?
Thanks

Ok, Nvidia.com has a download for 12.41. By it they say this:
"TNT2, Vanta, GeForce256, GeForce2**, GeForce3, Quadro, and Quadro2 family of graphic processors are supported through NVIDIA's Industry Standard Unified Driver Architecture (UDA). If you are using a TNT or TNT2 Ultra product, please download the non-WHQL driver."
So I decided to try the 12.90 Riva TNT2/TNT2 Pro driver (since the 12.41 driver was listed as the WHQL driver). There was also a TNT2 Ultra driver but I chose the base TNT2 driver.
And for some reason this works. Windows seems to work fine. Diablo2 runs great in both 2D and 3D mode. The only weird thing is my right-click popup menu on the desktop now seems to take 3-5 seconds to appear. Weird
Anyway, is it ok to use this driver? Do I run the risk of damaging/corrupting anything? Is there a better driver to use (see my note above)?
Thanks

No. If the driver works, it won't hurt anything. It's kind of a shame they left support out for their older TNT cards in their latest drivers.
