Even as I write this message, the words are appearing a minute after I've already typed them. Now, I'm not sure if this is really spyware or not, but it is really po'ing me that my brand new, week-old laptop Dell XPS is lagging like this.
Someone please help.

Have you done the standard scans with UPDATED Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware? If not do so:
Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware from Your Computer
Using Ad-Aware SE to remove Spyware & Hijackers from Your Computer
It's best to remove spyware containing programs through add/remove programs first, then use these tools to clean up the leftovers.

although those should do the trick, that is a symptom of a cws variant. if necessary, download cwsweeper and run it.

I did the Spybot and AdAware stuff, but my comp is still freezing up alot.
You think it's cws? How do I get cwsweeper?

Thanks. Although, my comp still lags a bit. I don't get it. Maybe I should run all three at the same time. I'll get Spybot, AdAware, and cwsweeper to run at the same time. Maybe they'll catch more collectively?
Maybe some of the spyware is covering some other files so you have to remove some and then come back and scan for the rest?

no. the stuff isnt that sneaky.
make sure you have the latest version of all of them, and updated detections. run them sequentially. youll probably want to install spywareblaster as well.
i would say that if your computer is slow, you have too many things running. presumably you have checked for viruses, and updated your OS.

yea. I found what I did wrong now. After running AdAware, I only deleted the critical objects. there were several neglible items as well. I just deleted them and now my comp is running back at tip top shape.
Thanks so much red. And also thanks to NyGulkuk. I owe you guys my comp's returned performance. Thank you.
