XP Service Pack 2

Hi,
I'm running Win XP Pro and have not yet downloaded Service Pack 2 because I've heard people are having problems with it.
Has anyone here had any experience with XP Service 2 and, if so, will you please tell me how you like it?

Well, for what it's worth, I have it installed on two desktops and 1 laptop and have had no problems with it.

I downloaded it the other day and now have an error that states:
Visual C++ Runtime Library
C:/Windows/System32/svchost.exe
Basically I can't do anything on my computer and have yet to resolve the issue.
You might want to wait to hear more from others before you install it.

before you install it, you need to make sure your OS is in near-perfect shape, or youll get odd things like the above. if a fresh install isnt practical, a repair installation is advisable. along with removal of malware of all kinds, of course.

I've noticed no difference from SP1 in terms of speed or stability. I don't use the new IE or the firewall/security center, so I don't have any opinions on them

I have it (SP2) running for about 2 weeks now.. no problems for me.

I downloaded it and installed it a few days ago. There is not sign of problems except it has the firewall feature which blocked my ftp download capability, warcraft joining and hosting capability...etc. I had to turn the firewall off. Beside that... i really don't see a whole lot of differences.

Hi
When i 1st installed SP2 my pc would not boot it was brand new only 2 weeks old took it down to the pc shop and thy told me it was norton that was the problem thy had to re install xp (Aud $70) later now it works fine thy gave me 7 pages of software that may behave differently or not at all with SP2 go to http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;884130 and have a look it's crazy stuff...
