Window Placement

I remember reading somewhere that there is a button, or buttons, you can hold down when you close a window, so that Windows will remember where that window was. That way, when you open it back up, it will be where it last was. See, I'm having trouble getting this IM window to stay in the middle of the screen. It keeps hiding in the upper left corner, and the title bar is put off the screen.
