Major problem with Foxfire

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I tried to install Foxfire but , although it seemed to work as a browser, it doesn't seem to have installed. I can't find it in my programs or in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

Because it didn't seem to have been a successful installation I deleted it and everything I could find that related to it.

Now I have a big problem and I haven't a clue how to fix it. Whenever I click on an icon like this one for Open Tech Support, or for Google, or any of several others on my desktop, I get this "Program Not Found" message. It says :

Windows cannot find FIRFOX.EXE. (I was getting this message before I deleted Foxfire related info.)

It then says: This program (Foxfire.exe) is needed for opening files of type 'URL:Hyper Text Transfer Protocol'.

Type in the executable file to be used instead- C:\ ( I have no idea what to put here)

Can anyone please help me with this?

Close IE and go to start>settings>control panel>internet options>programs tab and put a checkmark in IE should check to see if it is default browser (or similar), open IE and click yes you want to make it default.

I don't know what went wrong with your Firefox (not Foxfire) installation, but it could have possibly been a corrupt installer, download a fresh one if you choose to try it again and make sure you get it directly from Mozilla.org.

You may need to clean the registry of Firefox entries to complete a successful installation, would also be wise to start with a fresh Firefox profile.

Hi again,

Please disregard my above post re: Firefox. I finally managed to install it properly and everything is working fine now.

Thanks NyGulkuk,
