2 Computers 1 Connection Need Advise for Bnet access

I have 2 computers networked with ethernet cards. I can play D2 TPC/IP games with no problems by entering the LAN IP's ie., 10.x.x.1 (Host) 10.x.x.2 (Remote).

I currently use AnalogX's PROXY to access the web on the second computer by sharing a internet connection on the first computer. This proxy (AnanlogX's) claims NOT to support games that use UDP ports and chat such as ICQ for much the same reason.

Okay...here is what I am looking for. I need the name of a proxy (preferably freeware, hah) that will allow me to access Battle.net
on computer #2 and play in realm games. Keep in mind that the only access Comp #2 has to the net is through the proxy on the first computer. Tips on configuring AnalogX's or another proxy program are welcome. Maybe someone out there has already overcome this issue.

Ahrimanes thanks you.

IF you're using Windows 98SE or a later version of MS Windows, it comes with Internet Connection Sharing already. Check windows help on how to install it if you need to. If you're using windows 98 or earlier, you'll need a proxy software program. A couple I know of are:

www.winproxy.com
www.sygate.com

Thanks for the tip. I have poked around with some proxy apps... not those, yet.

Any advice on mapping the ports on the 2nd computer. I have the port numbers D2 uses to connect to bnet. The last app I ran locked up D2, it was meant for D1 so I expected it.

you're wrong there, I have only one internet IP and I can play d2 on 2 pc's both on bnet at the same time, in the same game

I think its not possible in starcraft with only one IP but I dont have sc so I'm not sure about that

if you're looking for an easy way to play d2 or share your internet connection, use sygate home network.

I stand corrected, Sniper.

I have been busy, sorry for the delay in replying.

Sygate IS the way to go. Install the host, install the client, and reboot both machines. BAM! Your playing realm games on 2 computers with one modem and external IP. No configuration of Sygate was needed, although I had to tweak my firewalls a bit. Play was not degraded any noticeable amount.

I suggest staggering player movement in high demand moments such as entering a game or changing acts, i.e. whenever you see the "loading screen" or initially log on to a realm. This allows maximum bandwidth and improved load times.

I haven't tried this out with the TCP/IP variant. I have a brother that lives some distance from me that will help me experiment with it. Of course this being after extensive hours spent playng on the realms!
