MX400 conflicts with Windows 98 SE?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm having trouble getting my hardware set up with a new install of 98 SE.

I thought I posted this problem earlier but I can't find it anywhere to see if anyone replied to it, so I guess I'll try again. Here's the specs that matter:

Motherboard: AOpen AX33
Chipset: Celeron 666 Mhz
Ethernet Card: 3Com
Graphics adapter: GeForce2 MX 400 with 64 MB ram

For the past 24 hours I've been trying to install drivers to clear up memory conflicts that keep both the graphics card and the ethernet card from working like they should for me.

At one point I DID manage to get online and tried to download video drivers from NVidia thinking it would help to keep it stable, it didn't.

Since then I've been dealing with a monochrome display from the graphics card and the ethernet card stopped working.

Currently I'm trying to run a diagnositc tool on it to find out what's wrong with the Ethernet card.

I know that this configuration should work, only thing I've changed is the hard drive (old one crapped out on me with bad sectors) and a new copy of 98 SE (I don't trust my computer to run XP cleanly).

What am I doing wrong?

Did you update your motherboard drivers?

if your power supply is large enough, i would suggest checking the irqs and moving or reassigning the ethernet card.
