Yet another "Day of Infamy" :(

Don't expect any humor. There isn't any. I keep telling myself I haven't awakened and this is all a nightmare. I doubt if I am alone in my stunned disbelief. The implausable is become real and reality has topped the most speculative of fiction.
Nothing can be said as to who is responsible...nothing can be done to punish those responsible...until those lives that still hang in the balance between life and death are found and saved. All any of us can do is pray.
While we all wonder about the Villians, several Heroes will emerge today from the grey ashes of New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington...policemen, firefighters, ordinary citizens, and medical personnel who put the lives of innocent victims before their own.
The death toll will be more than any of us could ever imagine...and the images we see on Television will haunt our minds for the rest of our lives...We are witnessing perhaps the threshold of the Apocalypse, the greatest tragedy since Pearl Harbor and the sudden loss of our collective idealism that it can't happen here. The enemy, nameless and unknown has taken the fight to our shores.
What many people fail to realize, certainly the terrorists, is that acts of this magnitude have historically pulled our collective bickering asses together in unprecedented numbers. Already across the nation, long blood donor lines are forming
and local communities are opening their hearts and homes to stranded plane passengers, indeed any passenger on public transport.
My own feelings and prayers go out to the victims, and their familys because their loss is my loss, our loss...And yet as the tangible losses are become known, body counts, rebuilding costs, etc. etc...the non tangible costs are also looming on the horizon for all US citizens...and some we may not like, since they will involve loss of freedoms...like movement, privacy and possibly free speech...
I have no problem with using what methods we may have to find and TAKE OUT the people and countries who abetted this terrorist act. I will have a problem with governments shutting down sites like TG or laggys board because of posts suggesting assassins should kill the president...I am not laughing as I write this and it is not something that can't possibly happen. Believe me...none of us have seen anything yet as the aftermath of this tragedy becomes fodder for those who view people who are different as threats to the status quo.
Anyone who has used a comp to access flight times during a specific period in Boston or New York should worry. Anyone who has posted an Anti-American diatribe or promoted Terrorism on their web sites should worry. Anyone who has publicly called for the assassination of the President or government officials should worry. Anyone who even looks like an Afghani, Palistenian, or any one of Middle East Descent should stay off the streets.
It is a sad sad day. I am seriously thinking about going off and buying a bottle of booze and I don't drink...That is, if any liquor stores remain open...In St. Louis about noonish a squadron of stealth bombers from Whiteman Air Force Base flew over headed east... I suspect they are being deployed in Europe and no doubt will be used to melt to nuclear slag Pakistan or Afghanistan if it should prove out that they harbored and abetted these terrorists. I may go to church before I buy the booze.

We pay the price for freedom in blood. We won't let anyone take it away after paying for it.

Who gives anyone the right to kill another in their holy one's name?? It's insane, there is a time for reckoning and a time for meditation, neither of which coincide in one religion, I don't know of any religion that says in their holy scrolls, books, testaments, etc.. that "you should kill anyone in my name." And if we must pay for freedom in blood, then so be it, hell, our country was born from fire.
