qwest dsl modem help for halo

i am using qwest.net with msn for my isp the problem is that i am trying to get to my external ip so that i can host games like halo and others but they only see my internal ip and these games do not allow any one to join or sometimes see the server,
that i setup,the dsl modem that qwest supplyed is a actiontech 54 mbps wireless dsl gateway with a built in router that i can access from my browser but i have not seen any way to set it to acess my external ip i have even tryed a router with out any luck.
is there any way?????
this is driving me nuts more than i am already (:

I am positive there is an easier way of that I do not know of but I just run Teamspeak Server on my computer. It shows me external and internal IP's.
