Hey all, im trying to download the new version of Americas Army game and everytime i dload it i get file corruptions. what gives? i have a 3mb cable connection, tried using a dload manager, used firefox, dloaded for several different sites... im at my wits end!! this is a huge file, 750 mb. is there something i can to to stabilize my downloads?

can you get it with bittorrent from somewhere?, also are you sure its the game giving you issues? if you have dled it multiple times from different sites, maybe the problem isnt the game

im pretty sure that its not the game itself, cuz many say theres no problems with it. Im thinking its something on my computer, like an installer issue. this is the ONLY program or file that i have this issue with. is it possible my connection is unstable or something? i dont know how to go about checking a connection for errors. like i said, mp3s, programs, video, ect dont have this problem, just the Americas Army game file. their tech support forums havent been helpful much. would contacting Charter (my isp) do any good?

You might try running a scandisk with surface scan. If there's a bad sector on your hard drive and that big file is saving to it, it will be corrupted everytime. You might want to do this before bed though as it may take a long time.

I'm in NC too and have downloaded the file from several sources around 10 times(not kidding) and everytime one of the cab file end up corrupt Problem: possible file transfer error.

I have noticed cox cable has gotten alot faster over the last 2 weeks and im wondering if it is within the network. I have downloaded many other things with no issue, but I have yet to do a surface scan.

are you saving the file to disk, or opening/downloading on the fly?

heres how i got mine to install. not exactly a solution, but a workaround. http://forum.americasarmy.com/viewt...p=988568#988568
whatever you do, dont delete your downloads when they finish. you will need them to do this, even if they are corrupt. glad to see a fellow Tarheeler on the forum. What part of the state are you in? Im on the Outer Banks. I hate it here!!!! too many tour-ons. (pronounced like "morons")

by the way its the 20th post on the list. also try the other guys suggestion about Bittorrent. it supposedly verifies each file part downloaded is the same as the host's file. try it with and without a download manager, try downloading it with Mozilla ( a far superior browser), ect...hope this info helps you out. if you get it goin, look for me in the game as I EAT THE GUTS. look forward to some good firefights!
