email scanning help

I am having trouble sending jpg images vai email. I use a dial up connection and although out going mail scan is dis-abled the images still take forever to go as norton is scanning them automatically ! How come ?? I have Norton anti virus 2004. Any help appreciated !

The problem is most likely with your dial-up connection, not your Norton Anti-Virus.
Images are very, very large files compared to the size of a text-only email with no attachments. They will take a long time to send over a dial-up connection. There is nothing you can do about this other than to invest in broadband.
