I have a remote latop user who says that some of her pages do not automatically load and claims to have seen something about work offline even though she is connected to an ethernet jack. Once they go to the file menu selection and uncheck work offline that page is viewable. I am wondering if IE is corrupt?

Does she use other means of connecting to the Internet? I know AOL is very intrusive when it comes to changing IE settings. It is probably defaulting to offline mode when it doesn't detect its usual setup.

i had that problem myself when using ie. it seemed to occur randomly, although only after connection was dropped and reestablished. never had the issue with firefox
as its a laptop, its presumably not running for days at a time. if a repair install of xp and all updates applied doesnt help, i would suggest switching browsers or doing what she currently is, although it might help if she makes sure to close ie before dropping the connection, and waiting for a connection before opening ie.
