Running DOS programs

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a jeefo virus and I am attempting to remove it with a standalone program I got from a reputable web site, however, it is a .com application. Therefore it does nothing in XP (or should it?) the instructions just say to run it and select "go" but I can't really hit go if nothing happens. It says it is a DOS application so I dunno if I need to run it in DOS or what. Please help.

cant run it from dos for an ntfs drive. you might get it to run in compatability mode.

If you can still boot into XP or at least safe mode, then you should be able to use a free GUI capable virus scanner. F-prot comes to mind but there are others.
