Everquest: Scars of Velious Crashing problems

Ok my problem is as follows: I recently bought the expansion for Everquest, Scars of Velious and installed it. No problems whatsoever while installing or registering it. My problem comes in game. Whenever i am just doing anything(nothing specific) my computer will suddenly lock up, no warning, nothing. Cntrl-Alt-Del doesnt do anything, neither does the windows key. I then have to hard reboot the computer. This is severly pissing me off because i have lost alot of experence and Verant isnt responding to my email. Please people.. If you have ANY suggestions, please tell me. I will reinstall EQ soon but if there is any obvious answers for this i would like to know them. I have already Updated my Video and Audio drivers to the most recent as possible.

did you play fine until you installed velious?
click velious patch
theres some stuff they released that isnt a mandatory patch, but it will also mess up your game if you dont have it so i dont know why its not mandatory
try the other patch buttons as well

easy fix: uninstall, delete, cancel account, go buy AO

Acctually spider...
They new shadows of lucin exp for EQ is going to blow away AO.
The graphics will be just as good, if not better, the stability will always be better, lots less bugs, and theres just plaining more people who play EQ makeing for a better in-game economy.
The easiest fix in my mind, would be to completely un-install Everquest. update all your drivers to the latest version, make sure you have the newst version of direct x, update window, then do a scandisk, and a defrag, then re-install EQ, and makeing sure you d/l not just the required patches, but the optional, velious, kunark ect patches as well (Do note, this totals over 100mb of patches because of the 4 extra zones you d/l when you do optional patch). I've had to do all this before when runes of kunark kept crashing because of a bad patch they put up
Also, i don't rember ever seeing windows 2k on the sys requirements, all i rember seeing was win9x.... this may be another problem, altohugh i doubt it.
