Enermax Noisetaker 470W 12V ATX 2.0 Power Supply Review

These days, a good quality power supply is a must. Those of you interested in upgrading, especially to a pci-express platform may be interested in this review from Overclock Intelligence Agency.

Today I will be reviewing a power supply unit from Enermax's Noisetaker P series. The EG475P-VE SFMA power supply has 470W of total power and exceeds Intel's new ATX 12V 2.0 standard. With the new ATX 2.0 specification comes the introduction of two +12V rails. The first +12V1 rail provides the noise-sensitive processor and motherboard components with their own clean power, while the second +12V2 rail provides power to all the drives and fans(except those connected to motherboard header pins) in a persons computer. If heat is the biggest factor in decreasing computer component life, one would think that computers would have a cool down period after shutting down, like many of today's automobiles do. Enermax now brings to the PSU table Smart Fan Technology or SFMA with this new power supply. SFMA will keep the units cooling fans running for up to 2 minutes after the computer has been shut down. These are just a few of the many features available with this PSU.
