DOOM 3 On Voodoo2 SLI

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Some guys over at 3dfxzone have setup Doom3 running with Voodoo2 Sli on an Athlon XP system. And they're getting decent framerates at 800x600. Screens aren't too pretty, but it's kind of cool such ancient hardware can get playable framerates out of just Voodoo2.

C'arn the 16-bit colour!
Seriously, that's cool. I remember a friend of mine, back in the day, got Unreal tournament running on a P166 with a Voodoo 3, well enough to be lagless on a LAN game. Good times.

I've still got my Voodoo 3, it was an awesome card, kept me going right up to, and past the UT era. Got the GeForce 2MX after i got Warcraft III. Bumped up to a $30AU GeForce 4 MX when i got KotOR, and finally i got my current Radeon 9800 SE when i got Unreal II.

Ahhh, memories.

Amazing how things have changed. It used to be a Gig of Ram would cost you well over 1000$ and a powerful video card could be had for 120$.
