Don't correct me if I'm wrong but I think in PvP you can fight monsters and players but in PvE you can only fight monsters. Actually... give me 4 more hours... Edit - Story: OMG I was down at the dining hall getting breakfast, the lady asked me if I wanted breakfast burrito or pancake right? Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!one!!!!!!!!!! Dude! My package got stucked at the UPS facility, and they say the are not going to be able to deliver it to me 'till tomorrow! May be I should just go turn in my research paper, and head back and sleep.
Edit: Right now it's 6:53PM and I am tired as hell since I didn't sleep at all last night, was doing my archeology research paper, and since now I am done with that class, I'm going to get some sleep. But I was thinking that we should start an OST squad, well my location would most likely to be one of the PvE Pacific servers that that need not to be set yet. Laggy start coordinating right now! Pick a server as our homebase, when I got my game tomorrow I'll create a character on that server.

Does anybody know a good race/class for newbies to start off with? Sorta like Barbarian is good for newbie so I figured I'd go with a Warrior class, not sure about race though. I'll eventually read the manual when I take a dump.

I've just purchased a guild charter at the Malganis realm for "OTS Bomb Squad" ... it needs 10 signatures to register the guild, so anyone who wants in can just add me to your friends list -"Tauruslupus" - so we can get this rolling...
Please note that this "guild" is nothing more than a way for OTS members to meet up and help each other, as well as get guild tabards... this isn't like other guilds where there are "rules and regulations" or any of that shit...
Honestly, with all of us apparently in different servers, I don't expect this guild to get going for some time... maybe it should be in another server, but there's really no common server right now where we can all meet up...
Regardless, it wasn't a bad way to spend 10 silver either... as for me, I just want my green guild tabard

Laggy, my Critias has just reached level 8, man those flying thingys outside Bloodhoof Village is freaking hard to fight. It's ok if I take them on one on one, but as soon as those dogs see me they just charging me.

Ocean, so far I like this one over other MMORPGs (I've played Asheron's Call and Anarchy Online). The focus on quests as opposed to just levelling was very good. You'll spend most of your time fulfilling quests if you want, or powerlevelling if that's your pleasure... the great thing about this is there is no immediate need to group together during the early levels, coz most of the early quests are best done by yourself... ellite quests are the ones that require grouping, and that's only if you're high enough level
Anyway, so far it's great ... I'm still too early into the game though, so we'll see...

I want it...but I have never played a MMO, I don't really know what they are like, what you do etc. I wish I played the beta, because I don't want to buy the game and realize that its not for me.

well ... if you're used to walking/running long distances in a game, and not raring for combat/action every minute, and maybe play alone for long periods of time, you should like this... frankly, the thing that kept me away from MMORPGs was all the needed power-levelling and the monotony of it, just so you'll be able to group with other people who got the game before you did...
In Asheron's Call, I liked playing it the first couple of days, until the time came when I needed a specific level or skill to do something, and I had to camp a particular area to gain the needed experience points to accomplish it... I got bored when I had to camp an area with 7-10 other people, and gaining a level took hours...
In Anarchy Online, your character's purpose was too broad... only an NPC or two there to tell you where you are and what you're supposed to do, and after that it's the same levelling crap.
In WoW, you get 3-5 quests in the newbie area almost immediately, and you can get to level 10 in less than half a day of continuous play, and that is just by completing quests. I like the quest mechanic better than "you are here in a huge world and you do what you want to do we won't tell you what" ... granted the other MMORPGs had quests, but they were few and far in between...
so I guess the bottomline is, if you have time to waste exploring rather than kill monsters every few seconds, WoW will do just fine...

What I want to know is if WoW is immersive enough to enjoy exploration, NWN hasn't really captivated me in that sense yet.

Theres plenty of places to explore. I spent 3 hours the other night just going around places, I somehow made it to a high lvl area and picked up a couple of flight paths and discovered a few things. You get exp for finding an area for the first time too, and it reveals on your map.

i bought mine this morning.
was going to try to find low populated area. i am thinking pacific pvp bonechewer or crushridge.

edit: looking at previous posts. laggy on malganis? any chance to move to pacific side? i would be playing from oversea. pacific is closer. i would love to play with you guys.

Laggy has already spent 10 silver on a guild charter on Mal'Ganis. What kind ping you getting on Mal'Ganis? I we could always pick another server on pacific and all start off fresh and get another guild charter there.

i do not know how to check ping. but it seems very good. no lag at all on bonechewer.
i will try to go malganis and see how bad the lag is there.
when ots clan is formed, i will move over to wherever the server might be. but for now. i am on bonechewer.

There's a colored bar just to the right of the quesiton mark button that's located on the right side of the bottom bar, put your mouse of it and it'll tell you how many ms you are getting.

Well if you want to join come to Mal'Ganis 'cause we'll need at least 10 person to sign the charter, so if everybody just stayed on their own server and wait for the guild to form, then it's never going to happen 'cause we won't be able to obtain the needed sigs.

I got WoW after exams and played a bit...got to level 21 NE priest on Shadowmoon server. Leaving for the holidays tonight, so I'll be back in January and I'll probably start a Horde character on the OTS server to fool around. See ya then.

Nobody has been on the past week or so. Everyone seems to be quite busy with other things right now. It'll pick back up when things settled down.
A few of us can invite, so send a /tell in game any of us. CanisLupus is the guildmaster, and my character's name is Orkenflange. Maybe send in-game mail saying when you will next be online.

There was but we merged with another guild which some of us have left, not all, due to a immature jackass of a guild leader. So as far as I know there are still a few OTS'ers playing on Mal'Ganis but we are not organised any longer.

uhhhh. ots was never considered a guild but if anything alot of us play all over the place but the most i have seen is on my realm in my guild :P just look at the pic i posted above. says all the info

There actually was an "OTS" guild on the Mal`Ganis, Pepsi. Quite a few people were in it at first, but like she said, some of us got kicked out of the new guild after we merged.

Hmm OTS was a guild on mal'ganis. Laggy was the GM. It was started a few days after launch and is talked about many many times in this very thread. Not sure what you are smoking.

hehe well the multiple OTS meets ive been to in LA and stuff noone likes to be reffered to as being in a guild. im not just talking about a guild someone formed in a game. im talking about OTS in general through out all games. but thats just my experience for the last 10ish years since diablo 1 battle.net
