I have selected the output for the avi file to DVD, but when i use dvd shrink to look for the file, it doesnt recognize it. I having the same problem whith nero. I assume it doesnt recognize the format. Should i do vcd or svcd even though i am putting it on a dvd?

nope. youll have to convert it to a large file in the range of atleast 3 gigs. then your dvd burneing software will understand.
